Selina is a qualified Barrister-at-Law called to the Bar of Ireland. As a barrister, Selina has been involved in advising and litigating in cases related to various aspects of animal law, animal rights, welfare, and legal protections and has represented clients in court cases concerning animal cruelty, wildlife protection, agricultural regulations, disputes over animal ownership or custody, and issues related to legislation regarding animals. Selina has also worked closely with some animal welfare organisations and governmental and non-governmental bodies as a legal consultant. Selina currently lives in the Netherlands and works as in-house international legal counsel with a global non-profit organisation in the plant-based food awareness and animal advocacy movement. Selina is also an independent researcher and writer on animal law subjects. Over the course of her career in law, Selina has developed a strong interest and understanding of legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks and issues pertaining to animal law, animal welfare, and advocacy. Selina is a member of a number of professional organisations in the field, including the Animal Lawyers’ Network of the UK Centre for Animal Law (A-Law); the Wild Animal Initiative Research Community; the Animals & Biodiversity thematic working group of the Global Research Network Think Tank. Selina is always seeking opportunities to collaborate with like minded professionals in the area of animal law, animal rights, animal welfare and protection and is happy to offer her skills to the GAL Experts Group of international and animal lawyers in achieving its objectives for the benefit of justice for animals.
