Bryan Pease is an American lawyer and co-founder of the Animal Protection and Rescue League (APRL.org), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights and habitats of all animals. His website is BryanPease.com.
Bryan obtained his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and studied for a semester at the State University of New York (SUNY) Albany while doing an internship in the New York State Assembly. Bryan obtained his law degree from SUNY Buffalo and studied international law and jurisprudence for a semester at Oxford University in England. In 2003, Bryan led an international investigation of the foie gras industry through APRL, including visiting several farms in France, and helped pass a law in California banning production and sale of this cruel factory farming product made by force feeding ducks. Bryan is licensed to practice law in California and New York and focuses primarily on free speech cases representing activists, as well as environmental protection, Marine Mammal Protection Act implementation, and enforcement of anti-cruelty laws using California's unfair business practices statute. He has taught Animal Law at California Western School of Law and frequently guest lectures in animal law classes in California and New York.
