Phd "Animal protection and welfare law in European Union"

Her research focuses on European regulations on protection and animal welfare and the related bioethical issues. She earned a PhD in Animal protection and welfare law with a thesis on Xenotransplantation. Under the project XENOME commissioned by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Programme, she has investigated the literature on public consultations in xenotransplantation, the interactions among society, experts and laws in animals to humans transplant and, more generally, the public attitudes regarding animal biotechnology.
She finally reached the powerful conclusion that animal welfare legislation is not for non human animals but essentially for human animal (www.ledonline.it)

She translates from english to italian two important books:
Peter Singer : The Most Good You Can Do: How Effective Altruism Is Changing Ideas About Living Ethically;
Melanie Joy: Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism; (This with Alma Massaro)
