Visa A.J. Kurki is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Cambridge. His doctoral dissertation examines the concept of legal personhood from the perspective of analytic legal theory. He tries to understand what we mean when we say that humans and corporations are legal persons, and what it would mean to endow nonhumans with legal personality. He holds an LL.B. from Åbo Akademi University, Finland, and an LL.M. from the University of Helsinki. He is currently the chief editor of the Global Journal of Animal Law (GJAL).
