Veerle Platvoet
PhD researcher Animal Law at University of Helsinki
Veerle Platvoet obtained her LLM in Global Environmental Law & Governance at the University of Strathclyde. After that, she gained experience in animal welfare policy, working for the Dutch government, prior to starting a PhD at the University of Helsinki as part of the ANIWERE project. The project aims to investigate the foundations and general principles of animal law. Veerle's research looks specifically at the law on wild animals, combining animal law and conservation law.
