Pierre Jouventin
Expert on the ethology and ecology of birds and mammals
Pierre Jouventin is an international expert on the ethology and ecology of birds and mammals. He is a retired Director of Research, French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Former Director of the CNRS laboratory at Chizé (13 years) and published more than 230 scientific articles in international journals. He has spent over eight years in Antarctica in the course of twenty-one research trips. Now retired and using his professional experience in animal behaviour and conservation, he is invested in animal rights. He published recently five books on the implication of the Darwin’s discovery for the animal intelligence/consciousness as on the natural history of dogs-wolves-men in relation with the human impact on the environment and on the animal-human link.
