Eva Bernet Kempers

Eva Bernet Kempers (1993) obtained her MA (Global Criminology) and LLM (International and Environmental Law) from Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
After that, she started her PhD at the newly established Animal & Law Chair at the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
Her research focuses on the concept of 'animal dignity' in law, and she takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining perspectives from different disciplines.
She is particularly interested in post-modern approaches to animal law and seeks ways to overcome the traditional dichotomies that have characterized the central debates of animal law thus far.
