Mag. Elizabeth Montero Romero (México)
Mexican and Animal Law Attorney. Holds a Law Degree from the Iberoamerican University of Puebla (UIA) and a Master in Animal Law and Society (3rd. Edition) offered by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
During +4 months in 2014, held an internship (as a member from the ADS-SGR Research Group from UAB) with Eurogroup for Animals assisting the deputy director, Lina Christensen and World Horse Welfare with research relevant to the first even pan-European investigation into the state of play of the equine sector in the EU. This work was commissioned by the European Commission and included research into the legislative framework relevant to equines in all 28 EU member states as well as relevant EU legislation.
Now she is the Editor in Tirant Lo Blanch Mexico Publishing House. Also she is a member of the Research Group: Animals, Law and Society (ADS-SGR) and Mexico correspondent for the web center Derecho Animal – DA – both directed by Prof. Teresa Giménez-Candela. She also collaborates in her home town (Puebla) in Dejando Huella Foundation and is a permanent adviser in the City Council of Puebla for Animal Welfare, mainly in the fields of animal legislation and education affairs.
She has international experiences in Canada, Spain and Germany, which allowed her to improve and reach a good level in English and German. She has knowledge in Portuguese language as well.
She has also published some articles in derechoanimal.info and collaborated with "Animal Welfare and Therapeutic Justice" document (L. Morales Quintero, E. Montero, L. Greathouse Amador. Communications Summaries).
