Danielle Duffield is a litigation solicitor at a national New Zealand law firm and is the president of the New Zealand Animal Law Association (NZALA - www.nzala.org). NZALA is a new coalition of lawyers working to improve the welfare and lives of animals through the legal system. Danielle has published articles on animal law for the New Zealand Universities Law Review and the New Zealand Law Journal, and has presented at animal law conferences and workshops in New Zealand, Australia and India. She has a particular research interest in the enforcement of animal welfare law and strategies to reform the enforcement models adopted in many Common Law jurisdictions.

Whilst at law school, Danielle was the founding president of the Otago Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and was a recipient of an Advancement of Animal Law Scholarship. She is a graduate of the University of Otago (Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and Bachelor of Arts in Politics).
